The set of circulation coins of the Czech Republic for 2016 is dedicated to the fertile Haná and administrative area that surrounds it - Olomouc Region. That, on an area 5,267 kilometers square, offers without exaggeration a cross-section of the whole of our national history. To visit it, not only for the lovers of history, is a pleasure. Thanks to its unique geographic location it is - primarily due to Jeseníky Mountains- a paradise for the lovers of winter sports and tourism. The regional capital Olomouc is also the seat of the Archbishopric of the Catholic and Orthodox churches and of the significant Palacký University.
The charms of the Olomouc region illustrates also an eye-catching lacquered packaging, which through attractive photos and their descriptions represents a sixteen impressive historic, natural and other local sights. In package are deposited coins in nominal value 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 CZK along with an original token, glorifying on the obverse with three most famous architectural gems of the capital of the region. The Cathedral of St. Wenceslas, Church of the Virgin Mary of the Snows and Church of St. Gorazd. They dominate to the obevrse of the token and are completed with an inscription TOWN OF OLOMOUC. The reverse covers up a collage created of coats of arms of the district towns of the Olomouc region - Prostějov, Jeseník, Šumperk, Olomouc and Přerov, in whose center is the year 2016. The underside part of the area is decorated with an inscription THE OLOMOUC REGION. The author of the token is Mária Filová, a gifted student of School of Applied Arts and Higher vocational school in Jablonec nad Nisou.
