The coins are round in shape with the raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coins’ edge is grained.
The obverse: in the center — the relief image of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus and inscriptions: at the top — РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS) and at the bottom — the denomination: 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE); along the rim — the stylized wreath of leaves and flowers of cornflower and clover representing the inflorescence of crafts closely intertwined to form the endlessness of a circle as a symbol of longevity and happiness; and on the left side — the year of issue.
The reverse: in the center, against the background of a decorative Belarusian rural landscape — the stylized image of a bridge in the form of the horseshoe with the horsemen on both sides thereof; within the horseshoe — the representation of a village church; and at the top — a circumferential inscription on the twisted wrought iron rods: КАВАЛЬСТВА (THE SMITH CRAFT).
