Description
1 Toea 2004 Year. The One toea coin released in 1975 is brown in colour with a diameter of 17.65mm. The reverse design displays the Birdwing Butterfly (Ornithoptera Paradisea). The Birdwing, one of the Largest and most colourful butterflies in the world is found in the lowland tropical forests of Papua New Guinea.

2 Toea 2004 Year.The two toea coin first released in 1975 is brown in colour with a diameter of 21.72mm. The reverse design displays the Butterfly Cod (Pterois Volitans). This fish is found in most reefs around Papua New Guinea. The Butterfly Cod often changes colour comouflaging itself to avoid danger.

5 Toea 2005 Year.  The five toea coin 19.53 mm in diameter displays on it’s reverse side ,a species of turtle rarely found outside Papua New Guinea. It is completely aquatic and lives on vegetable matter in large rivers and swamps.

10 Toea 2006 Year. The TEN TOEA coin first released in 1975 is silver in colour with a diameter of 23.72mm. The reverse design displays the Cuscus (Phalanger maculatus). This marsupial is found in both Papua New Guinea’s grasslands and forests. The Cuscus is hunted for its meat and skin and its fur is often used for decoration.

20 Toea 2005 Year. The Twenty toea coin, 28.65 mm in diameter displays on it’s reverse side, the cassowary a large bird which does not fly but has muscular legs adapted for swift movement to avoid danger. This species is commonly found in the lowlands of Papua New Guinea.

1 Kina 1996 Year: The ONE KINA coin first released in 1975 is silver in colour with a diameter of 23.72mm and is recognisable by the central hole of 6.9mm.
The reverse design displays two crocodiles; The Saltwater Crocodile (Crocodilus Porosus) and the Freshwater Crocodile (Crocodilus Novaequineae).
