Description
The coin is devoted to Geza Gardor's novel "Star of Eger" (1899). In the book it is told about the well-known siege of the Hungarian city of Eger by the Turkish armies of the Ottoman Empire in 1552. Among his heroes the well-known Balin Tyoryok and being of it in the service Shebeshtyen Tinodi. In 2002 "Stars of Eger" were chosen by "the most popular Hungarian novel".
The coin is round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. The coin’s edge is plain.
The Obverse: to the center the relief image of the portrait Geza Gardor, value - 1000 Forint. The down year of issue - 2013, to the top inscriptions - MAGYARORSZÁG.
The Reverse: to the center the relief image of the war for freedom of the Hungarian city of Eger. The inscriptions on hungarian - EGRI CSILLAGOK .
